A comic fable” takes place a long time ago in a remote Ukrainian village. The young and eager Leon Tolchinsky arrives in Kulyenchikov to answer their ad for a new schoolteacher. To his surprise, he learns that the village has been cursed with stupidity and that he, too, will fall under the curse if he stays there for more than 24 hours. Leon falls head-over-heels in love with Sophia, the beautiful young daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Zubritsky. When he’s told that the curse prevents Sophia from loving him in return, Leon resolves to break the curse, though many before him have failed. Count Gregor Yousekevitch, who proposes marriage to Sophia twice a day, does his best to thwart Leon’s attempts to break the curse and woo Sophia. A cast of lovable Neil Simon characters and “Airplane”-style humor combine to tell this tale

Live a Life worthy of the caLLing you have received “…ONE GOD AND FATHER OF ALL…” CLASS: “Let Me See Thy Glory”: The Attributes of GodCome to know God through a study of His character as revealed in Scriptures. For it is “The character of God” that is the basis and standard for all human morality. Knowing God intimately is our calling and destiny, our hope, our great privilege and our blessing, and thus it should be OUR GREAT AMBITION. Rave reviews demanded a continuation of last semester’s class — (yet, anyone is welcome at this time) Instructors: Sue Pelzel and Rev. A. J. Frank, Jr.
“..BECOMING MATURE, ATTAINING TO THE WHOLE MEASURE OF THE FULLNESS OF CHRIST” CLASS: “Living Responsibly in Christ”Jesus tells us He is the “truth” and the “truth” sets us free. It is also a truism that with freedom comes responsibility! Yet, our culture does not like responsibility. On the other hand, scripture teaches us that each person is responsible for his own attitudes, emotions, and behaviors. The freedoms we have in Christ do not excuse us from the responsibilities we have as followers of Jesus. But, being in yoke with Jesus, changes these responsibilities from “Ought to’s”, “Have to’s”, or “Need to’s” into “Get to’s”. Come learn the joy of being yoked with Christ and embrace the freedom we have in Christ and responsibilities he empowers us to accept. Instructor: Rev David Burris
“…MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO KEEP THE UNITY OF THE SPIRIT THROUGH THE BOND OF PEACE….” CLASS : “Life Would Be Fun If It Wasn’t For THOSE People!”“Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.” “Better to live on a corner of the roof than share a house with a quarrelsome wife.” “There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, 9 a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers”. These Proverbs indicate that there are “imperfect” people living within the kingdom of God. Not you, of course! Come and learn how to deal with these “difficult” people in a way that enhances them, you, and the Body of Christ. “For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there.” James 3:16 Instructor: Rev Cyndi Tillery
“...THERE IS ONE FAITH…” CLASS: “One Faith”We are the Body of Christ! We are Brothers and Sisters – Joint heirs with Christ. We are bound together in Love. We share in The “Blessed Hope.” Therefore, it is important for us to come together to affirm and re-focus on what it is that we believe for it is our COMMON FAITH that binds us together to be fellow servants of Christ. Come and re-learn Who is God…the FATHER?; Who is God…the SON?; Who is God…the SPIRIT? What is our common predicament? Come learn afresh about the marvelous GRACE, NEW BIRTH, and the CHRISTIAN LIFE, and how the church assists us in our Growth in Grace and Maturity. Instructor: Dr. Mel Whittington
“…LIVE A LIFE WORTHY OF THE CALLING YOU HAVE RECEIVED…” CLASS: “Extraordinary Results using Common Faith”Selected movies of individuals who place their trust and hope in God who then used their faith to achieve extraordinary results. Films about Mother Teresa, Jeremiah, Francis of Assisi, Peter Marshall, St. Paul, Luther; plus other faith-inspiring movies. This class BEGINS AT 6:00 PM and may run past 7:30 in some cases!!!

Supplies needed are muslin, scraps of cotton fabric (planned or scrappy) hand quilting needles, straight pins, and scissors. If you are still working on your Grandmothers Flower Garden, feel free to bring it and continue working or start a new project with us. We will also be learning hand embroidery and silk ribbon embroidery. If you have questions, please call Mollie at 693-8935 Instructor: Mollie Gillispie
